Hello! My name is Soshi. I’m MEC’s English grammar teacher. I was a student at MEC from elementary school up to my first year in college. Now, I’m in my fourth year as a grammar teacher.
Learning English is now compulsory in Japanese Elementary Schools. But, when you get to Junior High School and High School, it becomes more difficult. Grammar becomes more complicated. You may not be able to understand the language and start not liking it. If that sounds like you, please come to MEC and let us help you. Also, if you’re planning to take the EIKEN test or just want to get good grades at school, you’re very welcome to study with us.
In October, I will start working at a company with a branch overseas. Having been exposed to English from an early age, I think it’s very useful and studying at MEC helped me a lot. I will definitely use what I learned at MEC in my future endeavors.

My name is Junmi Suzuki and I am the manager of MEC English School. I am always grateful for the learning environment. I have had many good experiences while working at MEC English School. I find everyday fulfilling as I can grow while watching the students improve every day.
Now, there is something I want to say. You should have to have a goal when you study English: think about why are you studying English? Where can I use the English I’ve learned? It’s important to consider these factors when studying. By knowing what you would like to achieve you can practice appropriately while keeping English interesting. If studying for the Eiken or TOEIC you can learn by watching movies or listen to music, try to study in your own way. Then you will be able to improve your English skills in a fun way.
MEC is a school where teachers and students can think about their goals together. Not only studying and handing out worksheets, we also want to grow together with our students while having fun and exciting conversation every day. I want to students to say “MEC is the best!”
When I was younger, I couldn’t speak any English. I was bullied because I was mixed-race and I started to hate English, so I tried to get away from it.
However, I’ve always liked talking to people. I’m also interested in understanding the ideas of foreigners as well as the ideas of Japanese people, and studying new language inevitably changes the way you think. I started to study English with the goal of one day becoming fluent. After achieving fluency, I gained confidence in myself and it was a big change in my life. Even though not speaking English in Japan is not a big problem I think there are many opportunities where people who speak English can see the world differently.
I would like you to become an international person, meet and interact with many people, and support new life experiences. Thank you for visiting the MEC website.
